My cat is only two years old and very curious, playful and tons of energy. This toy is GENIUS! She wants more than 15 minutes of play with it. She LOVES IT! I use the usb charger so can't rate battery power. It was super quiet on day one, now it hums a little louder but doesn't effect her play time. I keep it high up on the kitchen counter so it shines onto the floor. She has played with this every day, almost every time she catches it running. Totally takes the energy out of her and the needy-ness for constant play time by us humans. My three year old cat is more of a laid back cat but this did get her attention and she comes to watch her little sister play with it. She'll try to go for the dot once or twice but prefers watching.
